The Hidden Gems of Ebay

Every now and then, after scouring thousands a pages of vintage dresses and skirts....I'll come across something remarkable and a bit...out of place. Behold:

An elusive book printed in 1918 detailing how to make your sense of style unique and tasteful. It seems to written with a bit of a feminist air, which in the early 1900's was nigh unheard of. But also something that I should think Lolitas might find interesting. Not only does it detail how to dress yourself, wash your hair properly, and attain a sense of beauty - it also features information regarding one's skin tone (or coloring), how to work with body shapes, and breaking outside the molds of dame fashion of the era.

If you're interested in purchasing this book (I know I am, but I don't currently have any funds) the link to the Ebay page is here . Please enjoy!

  2. Since these books are so old that they're in the public domain, you can actually find this one, and the other one linked in the comments at archive.org. I have a pretty big folder full of saved books like this! They're so fun to read through!
