....But I think we need a break~!
See, the deal is this: I've been making a lot of hair bows recently and those are decidedly Sweet. Even if they're black. So am I developing an affair with Sweet Lolita? Maybe, maybe not.
But I did just make this today:
So you tell me...
Either way, you will never see me in Angelic Pretty.

Photo Update
Well, dear readers, I finally have photographs for all of you concerning my Ebay order that arrive from Hong Kong a few days ago. Unfortunately, as I have no live batteries for my digital camera, I had to improvise and use my ancient cellphone to take the pics. After which I had to transfer them to my micro SD card and then move them to the computer.
But ultimately, here they are:
This is the Punk Rave blouse I've been eying for some time now. The lace really isn't dark blue, my camera phone just distorts colors a bit. Anyways, it's a lovely blouse and I am over the moon about that jabot. It's huge!
Again...what's with the blue? The ribbons are black, obviously. These are Montreal brand rocking horse shoes from ling_lam on Ebay. I ordered a size 8.5-9 and they're a perfect fit. I had to break them in a bit for a few days though, but that goes for all shoes.
I was sent white socks instead of black. : ( So we emailed ling_lam and told her about the mix up. She's sending me a pair of black socks and I get to keep the white ones free of charge. Isn't that great? I'm sure I'll find a use for these cute white socks anyhow.
I was unfortunately outbid on the wa-lolita kimono, so I won't be receiving one of those any time soon....but next time I see one up for bid I might snag it.
Now that I have photo abilities, please stay tuned for some coordinate posts. I have lots of new stuff to try on and wear!

Finished Skirt...what the hell do I wear with red?!
So, it's finally finished!
My red, two-tiered, elastic waist, Lolita skirt.
Pretty simple right?
And with flash.....
Tada!
Wearing it at my natural waist, it comes down to end just after my knee. I imagine with a super full petticoat, it'll be much shorter. But it's very simple and will work great in a toned down classic coordinate or as an underskirt.
Thing is, I don't wear red. I love it, but I don't think it suits either my skin tone or hair color. And I have absolutely no red accessories...not any that match well at least.
So I'm probably gonna sell this skirt. Consider this post a listing...and you guys get first dibs if you want it. I reckon $20 is a fair price and shipping will depend on your region of the world of course.
(The side seams are unfinished but it doesn't look likely to unravel any time soon.)
I also managed to get some photos of my Friday coordinate after Otakuthon, but they look pretty shoddy. Oh well:
Up above I had curls and a handmade headdress thingy and below just a pair of black stockings and ballet flats. I can't believe I forgot to remove my Otakuthon staff badge before taking a photo though. >_< Durr!!
Tomorrow is the staff BBQ for Otakuthon. Any ideas on what I should wear?

Long Live Otakuthon!!
I was singing a very different tune just a few days ago....thinking of quitting Otakuthon and such. Bah!
Opening Ceremonies was pretty cute...I won't post the whole thing with everyone's speech, but I found a video with the Pokemon cosplay dance...they were cute!
Also...the Death Note dance at the Closing Ceremonies was pretty epic as well!
For a little taste of just how difficult it was to swim through the sea of cosplayers...try this guy's video.
And I must apologize, I was unable to get any photos of what I wore since on Friday morning, I dropped one of my camera batteries down the sink (don't ask) and was unable to take photos or videos of anything. Which, to be honest, fucking sucked.
But on a whole the weekend was a great success and I made a couple of new friends, note-worthy being Stu Levy (founder and owner of TokyoPop) and Quinton Flynn (voice of Kon in Bleach, Axel in Kingdom Hearts, and Reno in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children, etc) as well as Sara Mayhew ( her manga Secrets of Sorcerers is BADASS!) and Scott Melzer who runs his own department at Otakon. Seriously, the best thing about being a Guest Liaison is actually meeting all the guests of honor and getting the privilege of conversing with them outside of the panel or Q&A setting.
I'm keeping my eyes open for any photos that may have been taken of me during the con. If I find them...I'll put them up here!

Otakuthon 2010
Otakuthon starts officially tomorrow, but for me it begins today. As a guest liaison, I am expected to arrive sometime today and pick up my staff badge. Then I have to meet fellow staff member, Scott, at the Holiday Inn next to the Palais des congrès de Montréal so we can go to the airport and pick up my guests Sara E. Mayhew and Quinton Flynn. Joy.
So I figure, what better way to stave off some of my anxiety and get into a good mood than by dressing up a bit? I think I'm gonna play it safe today and go with a country lolita/natural kei look. So yeah...that includes my beige self-made OP. I'm gonna dress it up a bit more though of course.
I'll take photos of my days of dress-up at the convention, since I expect to be either in Lolita or some form of boy-style all three "official" days. I won't post them until after the weekend though, so stay tuned on either Monday or Tuesday for a recap of Otakuthon 2010 and photos!
Au revoir!

Made in Space
Lights on, my living room is Hollywood.
I dressed up to traipse through half of Montreal and visit a friend. Hot and humid equals no blouse or socks...but I had fun rocking the platform sandals and teased up hair. (Too bad the rain made it deflate pretty quick.)
Outfit Rundown:
~Dress = Punk Rave~
~Shoes = Demonia~
~Hat = Hot Topic~
~Fishnet gloves = Lolita Kisama~

Adding to my Wardrobe
Remember that one Aristocrat blouse I posted like a million entries ago from some Ebay store? Well, I finally got it! I managed to talk my boyfriend into using his Paypal account to order me some clothing, since the blouse was on sale again. Not only that, but he was also kind enough to buy me a pair of Rocking Horse Shoes from ling_lam (aka Little Chili Lolita Shop) and a Wa-Lolita ensemble. I'm quite over the moon about it!
People don't give enough credit to some of these Ebay shops and Chinese brands. I'm going to make a point of doing some reviews on EGL when my stuff arrives. I really want to paint the Punk Rave brand in a brighter color so more people will realize that not all brands outside of Japan are shit. Because they aren't.
More good news too. I finally finished my casual classic Lolita dress in the beige fabric. A few more touchups wouldn't hurt but it's totally wearable at this point. I should probably coordinate it and take a few photos.
I also started work on a red two-tiered skirt from some gorgeous red fabric I happened to find when our neighbors downstairs moved out. Lucky me! Last night I gathered and sewed on the bottom tier and began attaching the elasticized waistband. Tomorrow I will finish that part up, sew up the sides and do the hem.
My sewing is still nowhere near perfect, but I figure with more practice and experimentation I'll get much better.
So tell me about your first few sewing projects. What did you make and how did it turn out?
